As your chauffeur holds open the door, you step out of the back seat of your Bentley Flying Spur into a balmy spring evening. The scents of honeysuckle and wisteria gently perfume the air. Stepping over the threshold into a palatial vestibule, you adjust your cuffs and straighten your Jaeger-LeCoultre. Another gala fundraising dinner is upon you.
As you take in the familiar faces, you see that the same people are having the same conversations that you’ve heard countless times before. Ted is bragging about his newly acquired Bugatti Chiron in purple and gold. Jim says he prefers his McLaren Artura in periwinkle blue. David, of course, swears by his Rolls Royce Phantom in peacock pearl and midnight blue. Charles chimes in and says he has each of those cars in seafoam green… and he does.
There’s one in every crowd.
The Dilemma of Success
99% of the world’s population will never know the rarified world of the ultra-successful – but you do.
For most people, designer clothes and shoes, and luxury cars, jewelry and watches are status symbols to be dreamed of but never possessed. But to you, in your world, they are commonplace – mere accoutrements of the expected uniform – the ordinary trappings of remarkable success.
So, what is left? How does one stand out within a peer group where everyone is exceptional? How do you distinguish yourself and your enterprises from your most elite competitors? Can your clients tell the difference between you and the others just by looking at you? More importantly, how does one establish a legacy that will be inspiring now and for generations to come?
The answer is in an old tradition, one which has served kings & queens, lords & barons, and giants of business very well for centuries – classical portrait paintings. Such portraits deliver three priceless things:
A powerful personal avatar – It’s like looking into a magic mirror which reflects the greatest version of yourself.
A peerless professional image – One which can give you an unfair advantage in the marketplace. No matter what you do, such a portrait tells the world that you’re operating on an entirely different level.
An immortal legacy – Because of the longevity of classical portrait paintings, your distant posterity will have an image of you that is still vibrant and alive. Just imagine your great grandchildren recounting stories about you and the adventures you had in building the empire which they have inherited.
Whether you commission such a portrait for yourself, or for a beloved spouse, an honoured parent, or a respected business partner, the world will have gained an eternal piece of the most splendid attributes of the person in the portrait. That is why I call my work Hero Portraits. I will make you immortal in the same way as the Mona Lisa is immortal.
